'THE ITINERARY'
THE ONE THING THAT TRULY BRINGS US CLOSER TO NATURE, IS HIKING.
AND BEING BLESSED WITH SUCH A REMARKABLE MOUNTAIN RIGHT ON OUR DOORSTEP HAS GIVEN US THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE IT FROM ALL SIDES.
REVISED AS ONE OF THE NEW '7 NATURAL WONDERS OF THE WORLD', WE ARE HERE TO SHOW YOU EXACTLY WHY IT DESERVES THAT TITLE.
OPTION 1
( NOTE: THIS OPTION INCLUDES A ONE-WAY CABLE CAR TICKET )
After pick up from pre-arranged location, we make our way to the lower cable car system on the foot of Table Mountain.
Once at the starting point, you will be briefed by your guide on the safety measures we take to ensure your safety at all times.
Safety is one of our main concerns, so please pay attention to your guide during this briefing.
During most of the year, especially our spring time, you get to see an abundance of local flora, including the lovely 'Pincushion Protea'.
Bird life is also abundant, with the 'Cape Sugar-bird' being a frequent visitor to the local protea flowers.
Hike start with a 1km flat walk along the road to warm up the legs, this brings us to the start of the main route called, 'Platteklip Gorge'.
This would be the oldest, easiest and most direct route to the summit, following a well constructed trail up a deep ravine, on the iconic 'front face' of the mountain.
Don't be fooled by the word 'easy', as being the most direct route, you start ascending from the get-go.
NOTE there is not much protection from the sun when hiking this route, so starting early is always recommended. ( summer – 6:30am pick up, winter - 7:30am pick up)
Once you reach the summit (roughly 2 hours), your guide will walk you around the top, showcasing the most beautiful view points as well as giving information about the areas seen.
Here you will have numerous photo opportunities, with your guide being your very own 'personal photographer'.
There is a restaurant on the top offering a variety of snacks, including coffee/tea.
After enough time spent on top, we start making our way down via the cable way.
The Cape Cable way, has been running completely accident free since it's opening in October 1929.
With 909 000 visitors yearly, this is one of the main attractions Cape Town has to offer.
Upon finishing the ride, you will be dropped off at your accommodation/desired location within the city.

After pick up from pre-arranged location, we make our way to the Camps Bay side of Table Mountain.
Once at the starting point, you will be briefed by your guide on the safety measures we take to ensure your safety at all times.
Safety is one of our main concerns, so please pay attention to your guide during this briefing.
Hike starts with a jeep track and a little climb to get to what's known as the pipe track.
This is one of the mountains oldest hiking trails, dating back to 1887 when it was constructed to lay pipelines. Today carrying water from the mountain's reservoirs to the City of Cape Town.
This ' mostly flat route' takes you along the Western side of Table Mountain, overlooking Camps Bay, Lion's Head and the Atlantic ocean.
Get to see a unique variety of 'fynbos' vegetation and Protea flowers along this route.
Hike consists of a easy trail all the way to the top, no technical sections or exposure to heights.
Note 'easy' is still a climb, as it's a mountain and it will test your fitness at some parts.
Once reaching the summit (roughly 2,5 hours), we will first visit one of the mountain's 'hidden gems'.
A series of 'fissures' or 'large cracks' in the rocks which form a labyrinth of corridors and a tranquil home to some indigenous yellow wood trees.
Perfect place for a local snack served with tea/coffee, lovingly prepared by your guide.
From here we follow the summit trail known as the ' Twelve Apostles Spine route', towards the Cableway.
About halfway to the cableway, we reach our route heading down.
Here you will have an opportunity to get some amazing photo's from a popular overhanging ledge at the 'old Cableway view point', overlooking Camps Bay.
( only attempted by those not afraid of heights )
The start of the hike down is a rocky staircase, leading to some larger rock faces, here you will have to scramble over, but nothing to high or overly challenging.
This trail offers incredible views over Camps Bay, Lions Head and the blue Atlantic ocean.
Upon finishing the hike, you will be dropped off at your accommodation/desired location within the city.
