'THE ITINERARY'

THE CAPE WEST COAST OF SOUTH AFRICA IS A WHOLE WORLD ON ITS OWN, A RAW BEAUTY BESTOWS THIS LAND, HARSH AT TIMES, YET VIBRANT ANOTHER.

DURING SPRING MONTHS WILD FLOWERS WOULD ILLUMINATE THE EARTH WITH A KALEIDOSCOPE OF COLOUR.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

​

• Tour starts with a visit to the West Coast National Park, especially famous for the wild flowers during spring, but also for a variety of wildlife that thrive in this protected area.

• See Africa's largest antelope, or even Africa's largest bird lazily roaming and grazing under the African sun.

• Occasional sightings of Puff-Adder snakes are also not uncommon.

• The salt-marsh, which is the largest in South Africa and accounts for 32% of the entire salt-marsh in the country, provides visitors with bird hides, allowing the opportunity to properly get up close to the local bird life.

• Beautiful flamingo's are ever dominant.

• There are even safe swimming options within the spectacular azure blue lagoon as well.

  
  

• After spending enough time in the park we start making our way out towards a San culture and education centre.

​

• Our next stop is at a centre which shares the indigenous San people of the West Coast's story.

• Here you get to engage in authentic interactions with local indigenous San, learning about the culture, heritage, knowledge, skills and contemporary life of the San people.

• Participate in a 1.5 hour guided walk with a local San

• The centre also provides a safe learning environment for the local San students who live in the area, supporting them in becoming San ambassadors and following their chosen career path.

• Lunch will be in a rustic farmhouse restaurant overlooking the fynbos and distant ocean.

FROM HERE THE TOUR HAS 2 WAYS OF CONTINUING

• A visit to one of South Africa's original micro-breweries, for a quality craft beer tasting experience.

  
  

• Being the first Carbon Neutral Brewery in South Africa, they have been on a sustainability journey since opening in 2010.

• With this mind, they created their line of craft beers driving awareness on animal conservation in Africa, each beer supporting a different cause.

• Riding a semi-automatic quad bike on a 20 square kilometre sand dune based terrain.

• The dunes are very reminiscent to those found in the Namibian desert, with beautiful white sand and the dunes undulated by the winds.

  
  

• This is a fun and free flowing 1 hour GUIDED ride, showing you all the beauty of the dunes.

​

• Tour will finish off around 6pm, with drop off at desired location within the city.
