From sampling locally grown and brewed Rooibos* tea, to locally grown and fermented grapes.

Swimming in natural rock pools, exploring caves, cracks and so much more.

*Rooibos – grown in the Cederberg area, and can only be called 'Rooibos', if from there.

'THE ITINERARY'

THE CEDERBERG, A SACRED PLACE WHERE LOCAL KHOI SAN FOUND REFUGE,

WHERE GIANT STONES ARE CARVED AND SHAPED, AS IF MAN MADE. 

ALSO A PLACE WHERE US MERE MORTALS CAN SWIM IN SAFE ROCK POOLS, SAMPLE LOCALLY CRAFTED WINES AND EXPLORE CAVES AND ROCK ART.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

DAY 1

CAPE TOWN – ELEPHANT RIVER VALLEY – CEDERBERG



  • Drive up the

    N7 highway

    , through a

    citrus valley flanked by mountains

    . On route we stop at a

    famous farm stall.



  • Visit a

    Rooibos Tea and Buchu farm

    , both

    truly unique plants from South Africa

    , for a

    tea tasting.


  • Taking us into the heart of the

    Cederberg

    on a

    gravel road

    , we drive

    the beautiful Nieuwoudtspass.


  • Upon arrival at accommodation, we can take a

    15min walk

    to a large natural rock pool,

    offering

    optional rock jumps

    of 5m – 10m.


  • Just

    swimming

    in the

    safe waters

    is also more than enough for most.



  • Overnight

    in the mountain area of

    Cederberg

    in a

    4 star accommodation.



  • Tonight

    your

    guide

    will

    lovingly prepare a beautiful Braai*

    for the evenings meal. ( vegetarian option available )


  • *Braai is a

    traditional way

    of

    preparing food, over coals from a wood burning fire.

DAY 2

CEDERBERG



  • The

    Cederberg

    is generally

    known for it's fantastical rock formations

    ,

    today we

    explore

    the famous

    Wolfberg Cracks

    on a 5km round hike.


  • Note

    some rock scrambling is required,

    but nothing serious.


  • Once back at accommodation we go for a

    swim at the natural rock


    pools

    to cool down.

  • Finish off the day

    with some

    Wine Tasting at a local wine farm.



  • Overnight

    in the mountain area of

    Cederberg

    in a

    4 star accommodation.

  • Tonight

    your

    guide will lovingly prepare a beautiful Potjie*

    for the evenings meal. ( vegetarian option available )



  • *

    Potjie

    is a

    traditional way of preparing food, in a cast iron pot, over coals from a wood burning fire.

DAY 3

CEDERBERG - ELEPHANT RIVER VALLEY - CAPE TOWN




  • Today

    we

    hike just over 1 hour

    to a

    famous rock pool featuring 2 waterfalls

    and a 5m rock jump.

  • With a

    hungry belly

    , we make our way to the

    Cederberg Oasis

    for a local

    lunch

    .


  • Finish off with a

    visit

    to

    the famous Stadsaal Caves

    featuring

    Khoi San rock art dating back to over 1000 years.



  • Return

    to

    Cape Town

    via the same route,

    arriving

    in the

    afternoon

    .
